Classes

For more than six years, the Legacy Arts Project has held weekly classes open to the community. For a small cost, anyone between the ages of youth to adult are welcome to experience dance from throughout the African diaspora. The classes have been successful due to the inclusion of all members of the community. Participants are led through a warm-up and dance class to the rhythm of live djembe drumming. As with dancers, drummers are also welcome to attend drum classes. These are led by veteran drummers who have been practicing their crafts for 20+ years.

CREATIVE MOVEMENT

Dates: MONDAYS beginning (Winter) January 8th-March 25th 2024 • (Spring) April 1st-June 17th 2024

Times: 5:30pm - 6:30pm

Ages: 6-8

Cost: $90/session

In this class your Kiddos get to explore different movements, express themselves, and have a fun learning the basics of Ballet and Hip Hop! It's a great way for them to develop coordination, creativity, and confidence.

Afro Movement with erin perry

Dates: WEDNESDAYS (resuming January 10th, 2024)

Time: 6:00pm-7:00pm

Afro Movement is a dance style which incorporates elements of African dance, music, and culture. It's all about embracing the rhythm, energy, and spirit of African traditions through movement.

YOUTH African Drum Class

MOVEMENT AND MIXING WITH TONI NADIYAH STOWERS
